About the event
After a successful ukulele presentation this past Spring at the virtual GETCA (Teachers Conference), Kyle and Gary have been asked to lead a workshop on ukulele for all interested persons who want to improve their ukulele skills heading into September. This $15 session will run from 4pm to 5:30pm at Knox Church in Old Strathcona.
Kyle and Gary have been team teaching ukulele in Alberta for the past 7 years covering a variety of experience levels and styles of playing. Gary is a professional instrumentalist on several string instruments and performs regularly while teaching privately in St. Albert. After meeting up with Kyle, who has been teaching music in Sturgeon Public Schools for the past 13 years, they have developed a friendly and inviting team teaching style for ukulele players of all levels.
Whether you are a recreational player or a music teacher returning to their classroom, this session will help all attendees develop new skills on the ukulele. Concepts covered will include chording tips, strumming strategies and lead melody skills. Please bring your ukulele and your questions to this event.
